Privacy policy¶
Last updated: October 31, 2026
This policy explains what data is collected when you visit this documentation
(homelab.maceo.cl), what it is used for and how you can change your decision.
The site is maintained by the maceosoft organization on GitHub.
In short¶
- There are no accounts, forms or comments: the site does not ask you for personal data.
- Google Analytics is only enabled if you accept it in the cookie notice.
- The site search runs in your browser: what you type is not sent to any server of ours.
- You can change your decision at any time from the Change cookie preferences link in the footer.
What data is collected and why¶
Hosting (always)¶
The site is published on GitHub Pages. Like any web server, GitHub receives your IP address and the technical data of each request (browser, requested page) to deliver the site and protect it. GitHub handles this processing according to its privacy statement; the site maintainer has no access to those logs.
Google Analytics (only with your consent)¶
If you accept the Google Analytics category, the site loads Google Analytics 4 to learn
how the documentation is used and improve it: which pages are visited, which page you came from,
the approximate country or city, the device and browser type, and the terms you search for
within the site. It also records what you do on it: how far you read a page, the external
links you open, downloads (for example llms-full.txt) and your use of the
Aprende con IA buttons (the option, level and section; never the text of the question).
The _ga and _ga_* cookies are used.
- Google processes the data according to its privacy policy and how it uses information from sites that use its services.
- The reports are statistical: the maintainer does not see who you are.
- Google keeps the data for the retention period configured in the Analytics property.
If you reject it, Google Analytics is not loaded.
GitHub repository data (only with your consent)¶
If you accept the GitHub category, your browser queries the GitHub API to show the repository data in the header (for example, stars and forks). That query goes from your browser to GitHub, which receives your IP address.
Your cookie decision¶
Your choice in the notice is saved in your browser's local storage, so you are not asked again on every page. It does not leave your device.
"Aprende con IA" buttons (only when you click)¶
The guide's Aprende con IA buttons copy a question to your clipboard and open the NotebookLM notebook
only when you press them. The site does not send data to any AI or share it with third parties: the question stays on
your device until you paste it. The level you choose (beginner, intermediate or expert) is saved only in your
browser tab (sessionStorage) and is deleted when you close it. What you write inside NotebookLM is handled by
Google according to its privacy policy.
If you accepted Google Analytics, each use of the button is counted in the site statistics with the option, level and section, to learn which steps raise the most questions. The copied question is never sent.
Legal basis for using the data¶
Google Analytics and the GitHub data are based on your consent, which you give in the cookie notice. Hosting is necessary for the site to work.
How to change your decision¶
- Use the Change cookie preferences link in the footer, or
- delete this site's cookies and local storage in your browser: the notice will appear again.
Withdrawing consent does not affect what was collected before you withdrew it.
Your rights¶
Depending on the data protection laws that apply to you, you can request access, rectification, erasure or objection regarding your personal data. Since this site does not store personal data of its own, in practice:
- Google Analytics data is managed from Google: see its privacy tools and the opt-out browser add-on;
- GitHub data, from GitHub according to its privacy statement.
